The popularity of Japanese used cars have grown by leaps and bounds over the
years. There is an increase in theavailability
of used cars in Japan . The reason for this lies in the life styles
of the Japanese.
Firstly the majority of people in big cities,
like Tokyo and Osaka prefer to use the train
or the subway as their main transport. Certainly
using this mode of transport is very convenient.
The Japaneselead very busy lives. Therefore time is of
utmost importance.
This results in people worrying more about
saving time rather than their comfort .
Another factor is that maintenance of cars is extremely expensive and often problematic. Parking space is expensive and cannot be afforded by everyone.
For long distance travel it is easier to use the train or use the car rental services by reputated companies such
as Toyota rent-a-lease or the Nippon rent-a-car
which are highly convenient and economical.
A brand new Japanese car cannot be used for more than five years
due to the "Sharken", which is
a road worthy test done every 3 years. When
the sharken expires, the vehicle must be
retested every two years. The cost of this
test is very high.
Thus Japanese consumers buy new cars on a regular basis.
However used cars have become popular due to economical necessities
and because of the high quality. Another
important is reason is that the mileage factor
of the used cars is very low.
In Japanese village communities, cars are an absolute
necessity. The most favoured `K Jidosha`
such as Daihatsu, Suzuki and Subaru etc.
are popular due to the cheap price and low
petrol consumption.
In heavy snow areas such as Nigata, Fukushima and Hokkaido , four wheels are favoured among Japanese.
Considering these facts, we can safely assume
and appreciate the popularity of Japanese used cars as they are economical, and an obvious value
for money and high quality! |
